Prob Frog Sticks consist of ready-to-use sticks that are easily pressed into deep frog sulci or hoof wall cavities. The sticks help keep the area dry by preventing moisture, mud, manure and urine from entering the cavities. By protecting these vulnerable areas of the hoof, improved conditions are created for recovery and a stable hoof environment.

A horse’s hooves are particularly exposed during cold and wet seasons, but the frog can also be negatively affected in the stable by urine and manure. Daily hoof care, including picking out the hooves and checking the frog, is therefore important in order to detect changes at an early stage. At signs of thrush or very deep frog sulci, a Prob Frog Stick is pressed into the affected area. The sticks help restore the frog’s natural moisture balance while protecting it from further external impact.

In cases of very deep frog sulci, Frog Sticks can be combined with the included fibre wadding to properly fill the cavity. After application, the area can be brushed with Prob Hoof Balm for additional protection. For hoof wall cavities, the stick is shaped to fit the size of the hole and applied in the same way. In the bearing border, the use of Prob Oil is recommended before inserting the stick by applying a few drops of oil, placing the stick and repeating at each change.

Prob Frog Sticks are safe to use on all horses, including foals and pregnant mares. The product contains no drying solvents and has no withdrawal period. The formulation consists of tar, beeswax, natural oils, propolis and resin.

Directions for use:
Pick out the hooves daily and carefully inspect the frog. For deep frog sulci or hoof wall cavities, press a Prob Frog Stick into the affected area. Replace the sticks every 2–4 days or as needed. Continue treatment until the hoof is stable. If required, the product can be combined with Prob Hoof Balm, Prob Oil and the included fibre wadding.
