Product description
Terms & Conditions
When a horse sweats, for example during intense training, competition, transport or in high temperatures, not only fluid but also important electrolyte salts are lost and need to be replaced. Equilyte contains the same electrolytes that are lost in the horse’s sweat and in the same proportions. The formulation is based on analysis of the salt content of equine sweat, ensuring that the correct salts are supplied in the right balance. Requirements vary depending on temperature, workload and the individual horse.
Electrolyte loss may present as reduced performance, muscular issues or the build up of lactic acid in the muscles. By supplementing electrolytes during periods of heavy sweating, Equilyte helps maintain a balanced mineral status even during strenuous exercise and in hot conditions.
Equilyte contains no added sugar or flavour enhancers and is completely water soluble. The product is intended for use when the horse’s daily mineral requirements are already covered through a balanced feed ration or mineral supplement. The horse should always have free access to a salt lick and fresh drinking water. Correct dosage is important, as prolonged oversupply of electrolytes may place strain on the body.
Benefits of St. Hippolyt Equilyte:
- Rapid compensation of electrolyte loss through sweating
- Formulated according to the horse’s natural sweat losses
- Supports nerve function, muscles and fluid balance

- No added sugar or flavour enhancers
