When the linseeds come into contact with water or digestive fluids, they swell and release mucilage that can support the gastric and intestinal mucosa. This forms a protective, gel-like layer over the stomach and intestinal lining, which may help soothe a sensitive stomach and promote balanced digestion. The mucilage also has a lubricating effect within the intestines, supporting smoother intestinal transit.

This protective effect is particularly beneficial during periods of increased strain, such as feed changes, stress, sand accumulation in the gut, or a tendency towards loose droppings. Golden linseeds naturally produce lower levels of hydrocyanic acid and therefore do not require boiling before feeding, preserving valuable omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E.

LinuStar is especially suitable for horses with sensitive digestion, during periods of sand or soil in the intestines, or when there is an increased need for essential fatty acids. The product can be used all year round or during times when the digestive system is under additional stress.
