Terms & Conditions
Free radicals are formed naturally during metabolism but increase during intense work and other forms of strain. If not neutralised, they can damage cell membranes, impair immune function and contribute to fatigue and reduced performance. An adequate supply of effective antioxidants is therefore essential to stabilise cells and support muscles and joints during periods of increased demand. Oligomeric proanthocyanidins have a very strong antioxidant effect and complement the protective role of vitamin E.
Selenium is an essential trace element that works in synergy with vitamin E in the body’s antioxidant system. In regions with selenium deficient soils, forage may contain low levels, increasing the risk of deficiency. This may lead to general weakness and negatively affect performance and recovery. Requirements are often elevated during periods of intensive training.
Vitamin E + Selenium is free from cereal starch and is therefore suitable for sensitive horses and horses with metabolic related challenges.
Benefits of St. Hippolyt Vitamin E + Selenium:
- Supports preparation for and recovery after performance
- High level of antioxidants to counteract free radicals
- Contributes to active cell protection for muscles and joints
- Contains vitamin E, selenium and OPC from grape seeds
- Cereal starch free formulation
Feeding recommendation
Approximately 5 g per 100 kg bodyweight daily together with the regular feed. If required, the amount may be doubled for a short period. This product is not intended as a complete mineral supplement. Recommended feeding period is up to 8 weeks before performance and up to 4 weeks after performance.
Please note that this dietetic complementary feed contains higher levels of vitamins and trace elements than standard complementary feeds and should therefore constitute no more than 0.7 percent of the horse’s total daily ration including forage. Always follow the recommended feeding rate.
1 scoop corresponds to approximately 15 g.
