Nikwax Rug Proof is a water based waterproofer for waterproof horse rugs. The treatment restores the rug’s Durable Water Repellency (DWR) while maintaining the breathability of the fabric.
Rug Proof is used after cleaning with Nikwax Rug Wash and applied to the clean, wet rug without allowing it to dry between treatments. It can be applied in a washing machine or by hand and does not require heat activation to develop its water repellent properties.

Volume: 1000 ml
Machine wash dosage: Use 500 ml of Rug Proof for one clean horse rug. Wash on a 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin and, if possible, an extra rinse. Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if permitted by the rug’s care label.
Please note: Always clean the rug with Nikwax Rug Wash in a separate wash cycle before waterproofing. Do not allow the rug to dry between cleaning and waterproofing, and avoid conventional detergents, as residues can reduce the fabric’s water repellency.
