Terms & Conditions
Many horses that are genetically adapted to sparse nutritional conditions are negatively affected by energy rich feeding, large amounts of concentrate feed or unrestricted access to grass. In combination with limited exercise, this may place strain on carbohydrate metabolism and disrupt insulin balance. At the same time, a ration based solely on forage and straw often fails to meet the requirement for essential micronutrients.
GlucoGard® provides a balanced spectrum of organically bound minerals, natural vitamins and functional plant based nutrients. Nutrients derived from brewer’s yeast, including B vitamins and trivalent chromium, work together with magnesium, zinc and manganese to support normal sugar and insulin metabolism. Vitamin E and selenium help protect cells against oxidative stress, which is particularly important in horses experiencing metabolic strain.
The formula also contains protective plant compounds that naturally support the body’s regulatory mechanisms. A well functioning hoof complex is closely linked to a stable metabolism, making GlucoGard® a relevant supplement to support hoof health in overweight horses or horses with metabolic challenges.
