Mucolyt® has been developed to support the horse’s respiratory system and immune function, particularly in cases of airway sensitivity. Respiratory issues are common in horses and are often linked to environmental factors such as dust, dry stable air, bedding materials and the quality of forage.
The mucous membranes of the airways form a central part of the horse’s defence against dust, microorganisms and other particles present in the stable environment. When exposure increases, or when the immune system is compromised, the barrier function of the mucous membranes may be affected. This can present as coughing, mucus production, reduced performance or increased airway sensitivity. As respiratory capacity is directly linked to oxygen supply and performance, a stable and well functioning respiratory system is essential for the horse’s overall wellbeing.
Mucolyt® contains a broad blend of carefully selected herbs rich in secondary plant compounds. These bioactive substances help support the normal function of the mucous membranes and the body’s natural defence mechanisms. In the horse’s natural diet, a wide variety of grasses, herbs and shrubs provides a natural supply of such plant compounds. In modern feeding regimes, this diversity is often limited, making supplementary herbal support relevant.
The formula is further enriched with vitamin C and selected trace elements that contribute to the normal function of the immune system and help protect cells against oxidative stress. The combination supports both local defence in the respiratory tract and overall immune balance.
Mucolyt® is particularly suitable during periods of increased stabling, box rest, during the winter months or in connection with coat change, when the immune system is often under additional strain. The product can be used as a course or fed over longer periods where ongoing respiratory support is required.

Feeding recommendation
Approximately 40 g per 100 kg bodyweight daily mixed with the daily feed during initial use or in acute situations.
Maintenance feeding: approximately 20 g per 100 kg bodyweight daily for ongoing support. For fussy eaters, introduce gradually in small amounts.
Please note: This product does not cover the horse’s basic mineral requirements. May be fed daily.
Important: This complementary feed contains higher levels of vitamins and minerals than a standard complementary feed and must not exceed 2.7 percent of the total daily ration including forage. Please follow the feeding recommendation carefully.
