The set comes ready to use with one instructor unit and one rider unit. Once the units are switched on, the connection is established automatically and communication takes place over a private channel. If several WHIS systems are being used at the same location, multiple channels are available to help keep different groups separate.

With a range of up to 100 metres in practical use and approximately 10 hours of battery life, the system is suitable for longer training sessions. The illuminated display shows connection, battery status and volume, while the mute function allows the rider's microphone to be switched off when two-way communication is not required.

Included headsets are designed for riding and feature reinforced cables and microphone windscreens. Each unit also has a 3.5 mm headset socket, allowing other compatible headsets to be used.
