Hormonal changes can cause changes in your horse´s behavior which in turn can create problems in terms of manegement during some parts of the year. 

Signs of hormonal unbalance is mood swings, aggressiveness, irritability and reduced performance. The location of the ovaries (just behind the saddle) can implicate discomfort and make it hard for the mare to work with the back which can cause protests such as tail wagging and sometimes even bocking.
